NLHS PBIS 2013
The North Laurel High School Administration is currently working to implement and sustain a school wide Positive Behavior Intervention Support System (PBIS). PBIS is a decision making framework that guides selection, integration, and implementation of the best evidence-based academic and behavioral practices for improving important academic and behavior outcomes for all students. We have created a NLHS PBIS Team that will strive to promote a healthy school climate and effective school leadership that involves families, schools, and the local community. The mission for the NLHS PBIS Team is to increase student’s quality of life and decrease their problem behaviors by teaching new skills and making changes in their environment. The PBIS Team will meet monthly to look at discipline data to determine priority areas and possible solutions for NLHS’s discipline issues. We will work together to find proactive solutions that includes a rewards system for students that adhere to the North Laurel High School Code of Conduct Handbook.
