London Elementary School is viewed as a historical landmark in our community. Our campus includes seven acres and is located in the heart of downtown London, Kentucky. The school's forty classrooms are located on three separate floors. Offices, Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classes, Speech/Language, Resource, Art and Music rooms are all housed on the bottom two levels of the building. The top floor is comprised of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classrooms, Guidance, Library/Media Center, Gym and Cafeteria. At London Elementary, we are very fortunate to have three functioning computer labs which are utilized daily. Each classroom in our school has a Smartboard, three student Dell Computer work stations, one teacher work station and surround sound that are all connected through state-of-the-art wireless technology.
The faculty and staff at London Elementary are dedicated to providing a positive environment of safety and opportunity. We celebrate the individual differences of our students and empower them to reach their highest potential. The teachers are facilitators of learning as they lead, guide and encourage students to become independent thinkers and learners. The curriculum focuses on providing activities that are developmentally appropriate and learning comes alive as students explore their individual learning styles. As a result, students become more motivated and strive to reach the goal of proficiency and excellence. London Elementary is committed to a school community that encourages students to make decisions that lead to honest behaviors, self reliance, productive citizenship and respect for all people.
