GIFTED & TALENTED
Guided by district GT teacher Barbara Meding, GT is a program that allows identified students to receive supplemental instruction in particular
subject areas.
CHOIR
Students in 4th and 5th grade can audition for a spot in our student choir led by music teacher Mary Oliver. Learning the fundamentals of choral music and vocal performance, the choir performs a concert each year and meets 1 day per week after school.
ACADEMIC TEAM
Students in 4th and 5th grade can tryout for this competing team coached by P.E. teacher Lonnie Harris and 5th grade teacher Sylvia Hedrick. Students practice each morning and compete against other teams ultimately leading to an academic tournament held in March. Click here for this years schedule.
S.T.L.P.
Led by 4th grade teacher Kim Angel, Student Technology Leadership Program allows students to work with and learn about the advancing world of technology. This program meets once per week
after school.
D.A.R.E.
Drug Abuse Resistance Education is a program offered to 5th grade students presented by Lt. Derrick House. A pioneer prevention effort founded in Los Angeles in 1983, DARE is a high-tech, interactive, decision-model-based program designed to prevent future student drug use.
DRAMA CLUB
In its 5th season, the Drama program at London Elementary is the only one of its kind offered to 4th and 5th grade students. Developed by Doug Salyers and under the NEW direction of music teacher Mary Oliver & 5th grade teacher Brooke Cole, Drama Club is auditioned based and meets once per week. The Drama Club produces a full musical production each spring.
G.T. ART CLUB
A branch of the Gifted and Talented program, GT Art Club meets in-school and is instructed by art teacher Denise Philpot. Students learn the fundamentals of art while working hands-on and creating such projects as: banners, scenery backdrops, assembly flyers, sculptures, original artwork and much more!
4-H CLUB
Offered to 5th grade students, 4-H is part of the youth education branch of the Cooperative Extension Service; a part of the United States Dept. of Agriculture.
JUNIOR MENT’S CLUB
A newly formed mentoring program at London Elementary under the supervision of 3rd grade teacher Travis Cupp. All staff members serve as mentors and are assigned a ‘ment’ee to help students receive support, guidance and encouragement from a caring adult as well as assistance with
academic endeavors.
BOOK CLUB
Another newly formed club this year guided by 3rd grade teacher Chasity Bray. Meeting each morning and open to all students who have a passion for reading and discussion, this club aides in building reading ability and comprehension.
TOP TIGERS CAFÉ
An incentive based reward for students who receive “Paws"-itive Paw Points for showing exemplary behavior. Drawn during morning announcements, students have the chance to win the prize of eating lunch with a friend in a separate part of the cafeteria designed in a tropical theme.
TRIPLE “A” CLUB
The After School Awesome Achievers (Triple A) Club meets after-school and is designed to encourage students and allow them to receive extra academic assistance and guidance through tutoring from various
staff members.

GT Academies
GT Academies meet after school two days per week under the guidance of 4th grade teacher, Kim Hooker, and district GT teacher, Barb Meding. This club provides enrichment activities for 4th and 5th grade students in the areas of reading, math and social studies.
