When North Laurel High School opened for the first time in the fall of 1992, students and teachers entered the new facility with a commitment to establishing a progressive learning community that would prepare all students for a successful transition to a productive future. With an enrollment of over 1200 students in grades 9 - 12, the Jaguars of North Laurel have consistently received state and national recognition for academic, athletic, and co-curricular achievements. In its brief history NLHS has recorded six National Merit Finalists, seven Commended National Merit students, and one Presidential Scholar. Scholarship totals (of scholarships accepted) have exceeded one million dollars every year since 1995. We can boast of numerous graduates who have gone on to be honor students at many Kentucky colleges and universities as well as MIT, Duke, Vanderbilt, Auburn , Stanford, and others.
