planning 3rd period
Welcome back to a new school year! My name is Courtney Parker-Guffey and I hope that you and your child have had a fantastic summer break and that you are off to a great start for the 2019-2020 school year at North Laurel High School.
I grew up in Laurel County and graduated from North Laurel High School. I completed my degree in Special Education P-12 and Elementary Education P-5 at Midway University in Midway, Kentucky. I am continuing my education and completing my masters in School Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands.
I teach Social Studies and English. My whole life I have been raised around teachers. My grandmother was a teacher’s assistant and my mother is a special education teacher. So therefore, teaching was my career choice fresh out of high school and what a blessing it has been.
I will be working hard to help your child make significant academic progress in a safe, structured, and positive environment. I will make sure to always maintain regular communication with you and your child. I will keep you informed with regards to your child’s progress. I strongly believe that parents and teachers must work as a team to ensure that the children get the most they can out of each school year. I look forward to working with you this year to ensure your child meets the goals we have set for them, and the goals they have set for themselves.
I am very excited to see the growth your child will experience over the course of this year as we prepare for the years to come! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns the best way to reach me is via email at email@example.com. Please feel free to contact me at anytime!
