Hello! My name is Mrs. Amy Anderson and I teach 4th grade language/writing at Hunter Hills Elementary. This is my 15th year teaching at Hunter Hills and my 22nd year of teaching. I am so excited to see what new adventures lie ahead this year! I am looking forward to teaching all students that they can become great writers and share their thoughts and ideas with those around them through the wonderful words and language we have been given.
I constantly remind my students that there is such power in trying and pushing through difficulties. In my class, we believe in the power of YET. In fact, it's our motto. I know with a growth mindset, we are truly capable of accomplishing anything.
In order to be successful this year in 4th grade, there are some things you can do to help. Please make sure your child is reading 20 minutes a day. This time spent reading will help them to see great writing and learn valuable writing, vocabulary, and language skills that are so important to our communication with others! Another great activity for them to do would be to work on a journal each day. Putting their thoughts and ideas on paper each day will help them become better writers! I look forward to a truly great year of writing with my students!
