Sublimity Elementary Receives National Recognition

The Kentucky Department of Education and the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators (NAESPA) has recognized Sublimity Elementary School as a National ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act) Distinguished School. Sublimity Elementary is one of two elementary schools selected in Kentucky, and one of ninety-nine elementary schools selected across the United States!
The program established in 1996 recognizes schools whose students have demonstrated exceptional performance and academic growth for two or more consecutive years. Sublimity joins a prestigious group that has received this recognition. Sublimity Elementary Principal, Kristina Thomas, remarked, “We are very honored and excited to be recognized as a National ESEA Distinguished School. It’s a great opportunity for our students, teachers, and faculty to be recognized for the hard work they put in every day. Extraordinary community engagement, high expectations for academic achievement, and unique opportunities for students beyond the regular curriculum are hallmarks of our school. The creative approach to instruction and the warm and nurturing environment make Sublimity Elementary an exceptional place for staff and students. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to work in such a special place.”
This is not the only recognition recently earned for the school, Sublimity Elementary received a five-star rating on the state assessment, is in the top 1% of 725 elementary schools in Proficiency, and is ranked eleventh out of all elementary schools in Kentucky!
