London Elementary third grade teacher Mrs. Leslie Oliver recently received the National Geographic Educator certification. According to nationalgeographic.org, "the free 20-hour professional development program recognizes pre-K through twelfth grade formal and informal educators committed to inspiring the next generation of explorers, conservationists, and change makers. The selected educators are part of a powerful movement to make the world a better place by empowering students to be informed decision-makers equipped to solve meaningful challenges in their communities and beyond."
Mrs. Oliver’s Gifted and Talented students completed One Ocean: Pollution and Our Oceans as part of the project. Additionally, the students received an invitation to join the Junior Water Walkers program through National Geographic.
