On January 15th, the SLMS Academic Team competed in the District 73 Governor's Cup hosted by North Laurel Middle School. The SLMS Quick Recall team finished as tournament champions, and the Future Problem Solving team finished as district runners-up!  Congratulations to the SLMS Academic Team and individual team members for their accomplishments at the District 73 Governor's Cup tournament!

The following team members advanced to regional competition in written assessment and composition:
Jacob Culler - 1st place in Math
Alex Looney - 1st place in Social Studies
Kadence Whitaker - 1st place in Language Arts and 1st place in Arts & Humanities
Natalie Boggs - 2nd place in Arts & Humanities and 5th place in Language Arts
Blakely Callahan - 2nd place in Composition
Seth Dotson - 2nd place in Language Arts
Cash England - 2nd place in Science
Connor Warren - 2nd place in Social Studies and 5th place in Science
Gavin Hall - 3rd place in Arts & Humanities
Timmy Barnes - 4th place in Science
Ceridwan Jones - 5th place in Composition
