About the Teacher

My name is Mrs. Amber Murray.  I am the 5th grade math teacher at London Elementary School in London, KY.  This year is my 17th year teaching.  I love teaching and I look forward to a very successful year.  Teaching is a very rewarding experience!
First of all, I live in London, KY and have been married for 22 years to Scott. We have two beautiful daughters named Addison Paislee and Avery Harper. We also have two dogs named Sophie and Maddie Lou.
When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family and friends.  I love to go camping and travel. I enjoy the outdoors and LOVE the beach! I coached gymnastics for several years before entering the teaching profession. I am a huge UK Basketball and Football fan. Go CATS!  Like almost any girl, I love to shop! But, most of all I LOVE God!
I am a 2003 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University.  I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in instructional leadership (principalship).
Some things you might need to know about me as a teacher are:
  1. I will treat you with respect as long as you treat me with respect. In my classroom RESPECT is a powerful word.  As you have probably heard, "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you."
  2. I expect you to follow the school and classroom rules at ALL times, even when my head is turned.  In fact, you know that teachers have eyes in the back of their heads.
  3. encourage parent/teacher communication and feel that it directly influences student success.  If you ever have questions or concerns please feel free to call me during my planning time, send me a note, message me on Remind, or e-mail me. Please be sure to sign up for our REMIND accounts to keep up with important information.
