Teacher Letter

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to third grade and to my classroom.  My name is Miranda Parker.  I am happily married to Glendon Parker, and we have one son, Hunter, who is 11 years old, and one daughter, Hailee, who is 8 years old.

I am a 2006 graduate of Midway College.  I have a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in English.  I also have a Master’s in Reading and Writing Endorsement.  In August will be the beginning of my fourteenth year of teaching and I’m really excited that you and your child will be part of it.

Throughout the first few days of school, the students will be learning what they are expected to do in my class.  I communicate to my students that good behavior merits rewards.  I will be sending home basic classroom information concerning rules, procedures, consequences, and rewards during the first week. You should expect to receive reading, spelling, and math homework contracts at the beginning of each week with a date that will tell you when it is due.

Your child’s academic success is very important to me in helping them become life-long learners and I have high expectations for each child, and at the same time showing them that I care about them and their future.

I encourage parent/teacher communication and feel that it directly influences student success.  If you ever have questions or concerns please feel free to call me during my planning time, send me a note, or e-mail me at .  I look forward to working with you throughout the year.  I hope we all have a great year!

Mrs. Parker
