Your Sophomore year is a very important year. You have one year of High School under your belt and are on your way as an Upperclassman!
This year, you have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement courses. The Advanced Placement (AP) program offers college-level curriculum to high school students. Those who obtain acceptable scores on the AP Exam often receive college course credit. This can amount to a huge savings when planning for college!
This year you will also take the PLAN Test. The PLAN serves as a midpoint measure, or a predictor of current academic development. It also assists in exploring career/training options and making plans for the remaining years of high school and beyond. PLAN can help all students, whether they are college bound or plan to directly enter the workforce after graduation.
Like every year of High School, attendance and grades are important. Remember, KEES money is based on GPA. It's never too early to start planning for college.
Many students will obtain a Driver's License in their Sophomore year. Remember the "No Pass, No Drive" Law.
