Photos of proclamation signing and student group activity

The NLHS FFA welcomed several distinguished guests on Monday to mark the beginning of National FFA Week. FFA clubs from several neighboring counties joined the NLHS FFA for this event, which included a visit by Kanyon Huntington, National FFA Central Region Vice-President. This was the first time a Laurel County FFA program hosted a National FFA Officer!

The event started with Mr. Huntington conducting a break-out session with upperclassman FFA members from the region, focusing on ways to build a better community. Students participated in a group activity on what makes a good community and how they could contribute to their community.

Later, all FFA members gathered in the auditorium to listen to Mr. Huntington's speech on building self-confidence and facing fears to seize new opportunities. After his presentation, Randall Weddle (Mayor of London), David Westerfield (Laurel County Judge Executive), Mike Black (NLHS Principal), and Denise M. Griebel (Laurel County Schools Superintendent) signed a proclamation to officially declare February 19-24, 2024, as National FFA week!
