Congratulations to Carleigh Goins and Judah Whitehead for winning the first grade’s spring reading contest. Every book read earned students a ticket in the drawing, and two Easter baskets filled with books and candy were the prizes. Keep reading, young Eagles!

Our Eagle Choir and their director, Mrs. Shawna Hodge, recently performed for residents at Laurel Heights. We are so proud of their efforts!

Johnson Elementary Archers competed in their last tournament of the season today at Bush Elementary. They have worked so hard and grown so much. They have had an excellent season and we are so proud of them!
Rylan Gray has qualified to go to state as an individual and we are looking forward to seeing him represent Johnson next weekend.

Wow! What a wonderful Read Across America week we had a Johnson Elementary! We were visited by so many fantastic people and read so many fun books. There were lawyers, librarians, a youth minister, police officers, judges, a hair stylist, a forest ranger, high school students, paramedics (ambulance AND flight), the sheriff, firefighters, the Chamber of Commerce CEO, Zola the Rescue Squad search dog, and more! Laurel County is truly an amazing community that embraces and supports our kids, and we are so thankful for that.

Johnson’s Eagle academic team competed in the Regional Governor’s Cup tournament held at Brodhead Elementary last weekend. They brought home several awards.
1st place in quick recall
1st place in Future Problem Solving (Louis Cockrell, Brantley Werner, Jansen Noe, Ruthie McFadden)
2nd place overall
Individual awards:

These kids have worked so hard and had a great season. We are proud of their accomplishments!

Our Eagle Archery team did an amazing job at the North Laurel Middle School tournament this weekend, which was a state-qualifying event. A special shoutout goes to Rylan Gray, who was the #1 elementary boy for the shoot!
Great job, Rylan, and thanks to coaches Taylor Ledington and Chuck Allen for supporting and encouraging our Eagles!

The first ever Johnson Candy Crawl was a great success! We laughed, we scared (just a little 😉), we visited with several first responders, we had good food, and of course we had lots of candy. Thanks, everyone for coming out!

Mrs. Bethany's preschool has done a book study with Go Away, Big Green Monster! by Ed Emberley. They painted their monster faces themselves, then put together their monster faces just as it happens in the book.

Mrs. Parman's class has been learning about fall. They traced their hands and cut them out, then used cauliflower paintbrushes to add beautiful fall foliage.
