Aerospace Engineering class launching paper airplances

Students in the Aerospace Engineering program at the Laurel County Schools Center for Innovation are using what they have learned about aircraft control surfaces to complete various flying tasks with paper airplanes.

The student’s tasks include:

  1.  The aircraft must fly at least 30 feet and be at least 42 inches above the ground.
  2.  The aircraft must fly 3 feet from the launch position and make a 90-degree left turn.
  3.  The aircraft must fly up, dip down, and then back up.
